Chapter 1 – The Truth on the Screen

The lobby fell silent.

No one dared to breathe as the Chief of Security inserted his access card into the surveillance console. Within seconds, every television screen in the Rosemont Medical Center lobby switched to the same CCTV recording.

The footage began thirty minutes earlier.

Emily stood quietly near the reception desk, holding a folder containing medical records for her late mother's charitable foundation. She wasn't arguing with anyone. She wasn't causing a scene.

Then Vanessa—the woman openly dating Emily's husband, Daniel—walked into the lobby wearing designer heels and an arrogant smile.

She deliberately bumped Emily's shoulder.

Emily apologized.

Vanessa smirked.

A few seconds later, Vanessa shoved Emily with both hands, sending her crashing onto the polished marble floor. Daniel never tried to stop her.

Instead, he laughed.

The cameras captured every second.

Then came the worst part.

Daniel leaned over his injured wife and whispered just loudly enough for nearby guests to hear.

"You should've signed the divorce papers when I gave you the chance."

Gasps echoed through the lobby.

The Chairman slowly turned toward Daniel.

"So this is how you treat my niece?"

Daniel's confident smile disappeared.
