PART 6 — A New Beginning

PART 6 — A New Beginning
Months later, I stood on a balcony overlooking the ocean.
Not Mexico City anymore.
Somewhere quieter.
Safer.
My son slept in my arms.
Healthy.
Warm.
Alive.
My father stood beside me.
“The Rivas empire is gone,” he said.
I nodded slowly.
“I don’t feel happy about it.”
He looked at me.
“You’re not supposed to.”
A long silence passed between us.
Healing didn’t feel like fireworks.
It felt like breathing without fear.
I looked down at my son.
“You know,” I whispered,
“he’ll never understand what we went through.”
My father smiled faintly.
“That’s the point.”
The wind moved softly across the balcony.
For the first time in years…
there was no fear in the air.
Only peace.
May you like
And the promise that my son would never know the life I escaped.
THE END.
