Chapter 2: The Man Who Thought He Had Won

Three days later...

Nathan walked into the courthouse wearing the same confident smile that had intimidated Delina for years.

He expected another easy victory.

He expected his exhausted wife to sign everything.

Instead...

He found her waiting beside her mother.

She wasn't alone.

An attorney stood calmly beside them.

Behind him sat three investigators.

And waiting on the evidence table...

...was the same manila folder he had laughed at.

The courtroom became painfully quiet as each document was introduced.

Bank transfers.

Forged signatures.

Hidden property records.

Emails.

Phone recordings.

Every lie he had buried beneath years of manipulation surfaced one page at a time.

Nathan's confidence slowly disappeared.

His attorney whispered frantically into his ear.

The judge's expression darkened with every exhibit.

Then came the final surprise.

The police detective who had responded to the parking lot that morning testified that Delina and her son had been found homeless despite Nathan's repeated claims that he had been providing financial support.

The contradiction destroyed what little credibility he had left.

The judge closed the file.

"I have seen enough."

Nathan finally looked toward Delina.

For the first time...

She wasn't afraid of him anymore.

She simply looked back with quiet peace.

His power had ended the moment she stopped believing it existed.
