Daniel opened the encrypted report.
Millions of dollars had disappeared from the family corporation during his assignment overseas.
Fake construction contracts.
Shell companies.
Forged board approvals.
Every trail pointed toward Marcus.

Several approvals carried his mother's electronic signature.
Daniel immediately forwarded the files to federal investigators and the company's independent board.
By noon, emergency meetings were underway.
Marcus laughed when officers arrived.
"You have no proof."
One investigator slid a thick binder across the table.
"We have bank transfers, emails, surveillance records, and your own digital signatures."
For the first time, Marcus stopped smiling.
Back at the hospital, Elena finally opened her eyes.
