Chapter 13 - The Last Flight of Marcus Ashcroft
Gabriel reopened his father's final flight from the beginning.
Marcus had changed aircraft three hours before departure.
He dismissed his regular pilot and hired a contractor with no connection to the Ashcroft company.
He carried no luggage.
He transferred twenty million dollars to an unknown account the night before.
Most disturbing of all, he recorded a message and scheduled it for delivery twenty-five years later.
The delivery date was still eighteen months away.
Gabriel obtained the encrypted file through a court order.
The password was the name of the condemned theater where Julian had proposed to Seraphina.
Marcus's face appeared on the screen.
He looked directly into the camera.

Seraphina gripped Gabriel's hand.
Marcus explained that he had uncovered the Vale conspiracy years before his death.
