Chapter 10 - The Skyline Belongs to Her

Two years later.
The Philadelphia skyline glittered against the twilight sky.
Inside the top floor of the newly rebranded Cole Commercial Group, a party was in full swing.
Waiters carried trays of champagne.
Investors laughed and mingled.
But this wasn't Richard Harrington’s crowd.

This was a new era.
Khloe Cole stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out over the city.
She wore a stunning emerald green gown.
She was no longer just an architectural draftsman.
She was the CEO.
When Richard’s empire had crumbled, the board of directors had faced total ruin.
Khloe, armed with the frozen offshore assets Harrison had legally recovered for her in the civil suit, had bought them out for pennies on the dollar.
She had rebranded the company.
She had fired Richard's corrupt executives.
She had rebuilt the business from the ground up, focusing on ethical, sustainable development.
The city loved her.
"You're hiding from the mayor," a deep voice interrupted her thoughts.
Khloe turned and laughed as Harrison walked over.
He was carrying a sleeping two-year-old girl in his arms.
Lily was wearing a tiny velvet dress, completely oblivious to the billionaire investors surrounding her.
"I'm not hiding," Khloe smiled, gently brushing a curl from Lily’s forehead.
"I was just taking a moment."
"You earned it," Harrison said, looking out at the skyline.
"You built this, Khloe."
"We built this," she corrected him.
Khloe looked at her brother, the man who had torn down a mountain to protect her.
She looked at her daughter, the miracle she had fought so hard to keep.
The past was a scar, but it no longer defined her.
Richard was a forgotten inmate in a federal facility.
Vanessa was a ghost locked away in a concrete cell.
But Khloe was entirely alive.
May you like
She took a sip of her champagne and smiled.
The future was finally hers.
