Chapter 2: The Truth Behind the Door

Chapter 2: The Truth Behind the Door
The grand hallway fell silent except for the little boy's trembling sobs.
The groom slowly knelt beside his son, gently wiping tears from the child's face. His voice softened.
"Buddy... tell me exactly what happened."
The boy struggled to speak between breaths.
"I was looking for Dad before the ceremony... then Miss Claire told me Mommy didn't want me at the wedding anymore."
The bride's face drained of color.
"I never said that," she whispered.
The boy continued.
"She said you wanted a perfect family picture... and I ruined everything because my real mommy is gone."
The groom's expression hardened.
"Who told you that?"
The child pointed toward the end of the hallway.
"The maid."
Everyone turned.
Standing near the service corridor was the young maid who had been listening behind the door.
She immediately shook her head.
"No... that's not true."
Before anyone could respond, the bride noticed something sticking out of the maid's apron—a silver room key with the engraved number 214.
The same room where the boy had been locked.
The bride stepped forward.
"Why do you have that key?"
The maid instinctively covered her pocket.
"I... I can explain."
But it was already too late.
The groom took the key from her trembling hand.

His voice became ice cold.
