Chapter 2 — The Envelope That Changed Everything

Chapter 2 — The Envelope That Changed Everything
Christmas morning begins like every other year at the Collins estate. Martin expects another holiday where he can mock Daniel in front of the family. Instead, an elegant courier delivers a black envelope addressed to him.
Inside is a single card:
"You've been insulting your employer for eight years."
At first, everyone assumes it's some kind of prank.
Martin laughs.
Brian jokes that one of Daniel's construction buddies is trying to scare them.
Eric suggests throwing it into the fireplace.
Then every phone in the room begins ringing.
Brian receives an emergency call from Whitaker Construction ordering every executive to report immediately to headquarters.
Eric gets the same call.
Vanessa receives an email marked URGENT—MANDATORY ATTENDANCE.
The entire executive team has been summoned for a special Christmas Day meeting.
Nobody understands why.
Daniel quietly finishes his coffee.
Claire notices something strange.
For the first time in years...
Her husband isn't nervous.
He's simply waiting.
As everyone rushes to leave, Martin mocks Daniel one last time.
"You wouldn't understand. This is executive business."
Daniel smiles politely.
"No... I suppose it is."
He picks up his truck keys.
May you like
"I'll see you there."
No one notices Rebecca Monroe's black luxury SUV slowly pulling into Daniel's driveway.
