CHAPTER 3: THE QUEEN RETURNS

CHAPTER 3: THE QUEEN RETURNS
Three months later.
The world watched.
Millions of people streamed the press conference online.
I still sat in a wheelchair.
The halo brace was gone.
The scars remained.
I kept them visible.
Some battles deserved witnesses.
My mother sat beside me.
Daniel stood behind me.
Adrian sat at the defense table in handcuffs.
Mara sat beside him, crying.
No one felt sorry for either of them.
I rolled toward the microphone.
“Six months ago, someone tried to erase me.”
The room fell silent.
I continued.
“My husband orchestrated my murder, stole my company, abused my mother, forged documents, and attempted to profit from my death.”
Adrian suddenly shouted.
“You have no proof I caused the accident.”
I looked directly at him.
Then I smiled.
“Actually…”
The giant screen behind me turned on.
Dashcam footage appeared.
Rain.
The bridge.
My car.
Then another black SUV accelerated.
And behind the wheel…
Mara.
Gasps exploded throughout the room.
Adrian's face collapsed.
Mara started screaming.
“It was his idea!”
Adrian screamed back.
“You did it!”
Police officers immediately surrounded them both.
My mother burst into tears.
I reached for her hand.
She squeezed mine tightly.
The thing they never understood was simple.
They thought my body was my power.
It wasn't.
My power had always been my mind.
Months later, I stood once again inside my company's headquarters.
Thousands of employees applauded.
I walked slowly onto the stage.
No longer a victim.
No longer a ghost.
I smiled.
“Today, we're launching a new technology for paralyzed patients all over the world.”
The room erupted.
I looked toward the sky through the glass ceiling.
Life had nearly ended inside a titanium cage.
But cages only work when the person inside believes they're trapped.
And I didn't.
I never would again.
Because the woman they buried…
May you like
Had learned how to resurrect herself.
