Chapter 1: The Truth on the Screen

The ballroom fell into complete silence.

The young man swallowed hard, his confidence evaporating as every eye turned toward the security office.

"Fine," he muttered. "Let's check."

Within minutes, the hotel manager connected the surveillance footage to the giant LED screen behind the stage. Guests held their breath as the recording replayed the moments before the accident.

The little girl could be seen quietly standing beside the dessert table, clutching a tiny stuffed rabbit. She never reached toward the award plaque.

Then another figure entered the frame.

A well-dressed woman carefully lifted the wooden plaque from the display shelf. She slipped something small into her designer purse before placing the plaque back crookedly. As she hurried away, the young man rushed over, grabbed the unstable plaque, and accidentally sent it flying straight toward the child.

The heavy frame struck the little girl across the forehead.

Gasps echoed through the ballroom.

The mother held her daughter tighter as tears streamed down her face.

The young man's face turned pale.

"I... I thought she took it," he whispered.

"No," the hotel manager replied firmly. "You never saw her steal anything."

The room erupted into whispers as everyone realized the accusation had been a lie built on assumptions.
