Chapter 3: A Daughter's New Beginning

Chapter 3: A Daughter's New Beginning

Two weeks later, I moved into the Kensington estate.

It didn't feel like a mansion.

It felt like healing.

Victoria never tried to buy my love.

Instead, she patiently earned my trust.

She showed me photo albums from before I disappeared.

My nursery.

My first birthday invitations that had already been printed.

My father's handwritten journal.

He had died five years earlier without ever giving up hope of finding me.

Every page contained the same promise.

"We'll bring our daughter home."

I cried harder than I ever had.

Victoria sat beside me.

"You don't have to become someone different."

"I don't even know how to be part of this family."

She smiled gently.

"You already are."

Months later, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Victoria held her grandson with tears streaming down her face.

"My husband waited his entire life to meet you," she whispered to the baby.

"I'll love you enough for both of us."

Watching her cradle my son, I realized something profound.

May you like

Blood had brought us together.

Love would keep us together.
