The courtroom remained silent as the prosecution presented the evidence.
Photographs.
Medical reports.
Financial records.
Security footage.
Witness testimony.
Every piece fit perfectly.
Eleanor still refused responsibility.
"I raised Lucas. Everything I did was for this family."
The prosecutor replied calmly.
"You were not protecting this family."
"You were controlling it."
Audrey tried another defense.
"My brother always loved his wife more than us."
I finally spoke.
"I loved all of you."
The courtroom turned toward me.
"But love isn't permission to abuse the people who trust you."
Daniel introduced the final exhibit.
A voice recording recovered from Sophia's hidden smartwatch.
Eleanor's voice echoed through the courtroom.
"If the baby gets sick, maybe Lucas will blame you instead."
Gasps filled the gallery.
Sophia lowered her eyes.
I reached for her hand.
The judge removed his glasses before delivering the ruling.
"Eleanor Carter and Audrey Carter demonstrated a prolonged pattern of emotional abuse, unlawful confinement, financial fraud, and child neglect."
He paused.
"The court orders restitution in full, permanent eviction from all trust-owned properties, and sentences consistent with the criminal convictions entered today."
