Chapter 1: The First Note

Chapter 1: The First Note
The ballroom fell into complete silence.
Some guests exchanged amused smiles. Others shook their heads, convinced they were about to witness an embarrassing mistake.
The man standing beside the grand piano folded his arms.
"Very well," he said calmly. "Show us."
The little girl climbed onto the piano bench without hesitation. Her feet couldn't even reach the pedals.
A few people chuckled.
"Someone should stop this," an elderly guest whispered.
The woman who had begged her to stay quiet covered her face with trembling hands.
But the girl simply closed her eyes.
Then she played.
The first note echoed through the ballroom like a whisper.
The second carried warmth.
By the tenth measure, every conversation had disappeared.
Her fingers danced across the ivory keys with impossible precision. Every movement was effortless, every phrase filled with emotion far beyond her years.
The skeptical man slowly lowered his arms.
His expression changed from doubt...
...to confusion...
...to absolute disbelief.
"This..." he murmured under his breath.
"No child should be able to play like this."
When the final chord faded into silence, no one moved.
The room remained frozen until one elderly musician stood and began to applaud.
Then another.
Within seconds, the entire ballroom erupted into a standing ovation.
The little girl smiled politely.

She hadn't played to impress anyone.
She had simply played the music exactly the way she heard it.
