CHAPTER 5: THE EXHIBITION OF TRUTH
Three months later, the gallery looked completely different.
Victoria had been arrested and charged with fraud, art theft, and forgery after investigators uncovered decades of stolen works hidden through shell companies and fake ownership records.
The famous masterpiece was officially restored to its rightful creator.
For the first time in history, the plaque beneath it read:
Daniel Brooks — Original Artist
Beside it hung another drawing.
Not an expensive painting.
Not a perfect work.
Just the torn sketch Lena had rescued from the floor.
Visitors stopped in front of it longer than any other piece.
The small tear running across the paper had never been repaired.
The museum left it exactly as it was.
Because that tear reminded everyone how easily talent can be dismissed... and how impossible the truth is to destroy.
Lena was no longer cleaning the gallery floors.
She was opening her own exhibition.
