CHAPTER 3: THE WOMAN WHO WALKED AWAY

Three months later.

The world looked completely different.

Kyle sat alone inside a tiny apartment.

No mansion.

No luxury cars.

No business empire.

No friends.

Because once the money disappeared…

Everyone disappeared too.

Meanwhile, she sat peacefully inside her father's headquarters overlooking New York City.

But something had changed about her.

She no longer hid herself.

She no longer apologized for existing.

She had finally learned her worth.

An assistant entered her office.

“Miss Whitmore, someone is here to see you.”

She already knew who it was.

Kyle.

He looked exhausted.

Broken.

Older than before.

“Can we talk?” he asked.

She nodded politely.

He stared at her for several moments.

Then whispered…

“I ruined everything.”

“Yes, you did.”

“I’m sorry.”

She smiled gently.

“I believe you are.”

Tears formed in his eyes.

“Can we start over?”

She stood up and walked toward the window.

The city lights reflected in her eyes.

Then she gave him an answer he would remember forever.

“Some people come into our lives to build a future.”

“Others come to teach us a lesson.”

“You were my lesson.”

“And I have finally learned it.”

Kyle lowered his head.

There was nothing left to say.

She walked toward the door.

Then stopped one final time.

“I don’t hate you anymore.”

“But you will never have access to me again.”

And with that…

She walked away.

Not as someone’s wife.

Not as someone hidden in the shadows.

But as the woman she was always meant to become.

Powerful.

Independent.

Unbreakable.

Because sometimes losing everything…

May you like

Is exactly how you find yourself again.

THE END
