Chapter 2: The Signature That Changed Everything

The massive oak doors of the mansion swung open as the husband stormed outside, his confidence already beginning to crack.

His wife stood beside the marble fountain, perfectly composed in her white dress. She wasn't crying. She wasn't begging. She simply watched him with quiet certainty.

"You think this is funny?" he barked. "You're standing on my property."

She glanced around the estate before meeting his eyes.

"No," she replied calmly. "I'm standing on mine."

He laughed loudly, turning toward his legal associate.

"Tell her she's delusional."

The associate didn't answer.

Instead, he slowly removed a thick leather folder from his briefcase. His expression had completely changed.

"Sir..." he said carefully. "I think you should read this."

The husband snatched the documents away.

His smile disappeared after reading the first page.

Property Transfer Agreement.

Four years earlier.

His signature.

Her name.

Every page carried his initials.

His breathing became uneven.

"No... this isn't possible."

His wife folded her arms.

"You signed every document yourself."

"I trusted you!"

"You trusted your own arrogance."

She reminded him of the business expansion four years ago, when he had rushed through hundreds of legal papers without reading them because he believed no one could outsmart him.

He had insisted on signing everything personally.

She had simply made sure every document was completely legal.

"You never lost because I tricked you," she said. "You lost because you believed you were too powerful to pay attention."

For the first time in years, silence surrounded the man who always had the final word.
