Nathan didn’t sleep that night.
Instead, he sat in his private office watching security footage from every corner of the mansion.
At first, nothing seemed unusual.
Victoria smiled at guests.
She attended charity events.
She appeared beside Nathan in magazines.
The perfect billionaire couple.
But then Nathan discovered something.
Several cameras in the house had been disabled.
Always during the same hours.
Always when the children were home alone with Victoria.
Nathan called his head of security, Daniel Brooks.
“Find everything.”
Daniel looked concerned.
“Everything, sir?”
Nathan stared at the screen.
“Every recording. Every deleted file. Every report.”
Within hours, Daniel uncovered years of hidden evidence.
Medical appointments.
School reports.
Private messages.
And one shocking discovery.
A former nanny had tried to report Victoria two years earlier.
The complaint disappeared.
Nathan read the document again and again.
The nanny wrote:
“Mrs. Harrington is not who everyone believes she is. The children are afraid of her.”
Nathan’s hands tightened around the paper.
“Why didn’t I know about this?”
Daniel lowered his voice.
“Someone made sure you never saw it.”
Nathan looked up.
“Who?”
Daniel hesitated.
Then placed another file on the desk.
“Your wife’s assistant.”
Inside were emails showing that Victoria had paid people to stay silent.
Teachers.
House staff.
Even doctors.
Nathan felt something inside him break.
The woman he trusted had built an entire world of lies.
But there was one question he couldn’t answer.
Why?
That evening, Nathan confronted Victoria.
She sat calmly in the living room.
“You investigated me.”
“Yes.”
“And what did you find?”
Nathan looked at her.
“The truth.”
For the first time, Victoria’s confidence disappeared.
“You think you know everything.”
Nathan stepped closer.
“No. But I know enough.”
Victoria’s eyes filled with anger.
“You abandoned this family, Nathan.”
He froze.
“What?”
“You were never here.”
Her voice became louder.
“You cared more about your company than us.”
Nathan stared at her.
“You hurt our children because I traveled for work?”
