Chapter 3 – Too Late

Chapter 3 – Too Late

One year later.

Whitmore International announced its youngest CEO in company history.

Sophie Reed walked onto the stage to a standing ovation.

Confident.

Respected.

Unstoppable.

She had transformed the family business into one of the fastest-growing companies in the world while expanding scholarships for students, hospitals for underserved communities, and charities her parents had always dreamed of supporting.

Across town, Daniel watched the ceremony on a television inside a small office.

His own company had collapsed months earlier.

The billionaire's daughter had left when the money disappeared.

For the first time, he understood the difference between wealth and worth.

A reporter approached Sophie after the ceremony.

"If your former fiancé could hear one message from you today, what would you say?"

Sophie paused for a moment.

Then she smiled.

"I hope he finds happiness."

"But some opportunities only come once."

"And when you choose greed over loyalty..."

"You don't lose money."

"You lose the people who would have stood beside you when money was gone."

She stepped into her car and drove toward the future she had built herself.

Daniel watched the broadcast until the screen faded to black.

Only then did he finally understand.

He hadn't lost an inheritance.

He hadn't lost a billionaire.

He had lost the only woman who ever loved him for who he was.

And that was something no fortune could ever buy back.

The End.
