Chapter 2: The Truth Beneath the Uniform

Security surrounded her, but no one dared to touch her immediately.

The blonde woman clung to her boyfriend, her voice trembling. “She attacked him! She should be arrested!”

The waitress finally straightened her uniform, smoothing the white apron with hands that were now steady again.

“I used to be student council president,” she said suddenly, her voice calm but firm. “Do you know what that means? It means I spent years standing in front of people like you… protecting students from exactly this kind of behavior.”

She glanced down at the man still on the floor.

“And now I serve tables. Not because I fell. But because I chose to leave a place where people smile in public and humiliate others in private.”

A murmur spread through the room.

The manager looked confused. “You were… staff here under recommendation. We didn’t know—”

“Of course you didn’t,” she interrupted softly. “People like you never ask who someone is. Only what they are wearing.”

The blonde woman’s expression shifted slightly—anger mixing with uncertainty.

For the first time, the atmosphere changed. The humiliation that had been directed at the waitress now began to reflect back onto the table that started it.

The man on the floor tried to speak, but his voice cracked. “She… she attacked me…”

The waitress looked at him one last time.

“No,” she said. “You tried to erase me in front of everyone. I just refused to disappear.”

A heavy silence followed.

Security hesitated.

No one knew anymore who the victim was supposed to be.
