PART 3 — The Family That Lied

PART 3 — The Family That Lied
Alejandro spent the entire night reading the documents.
He did not sleep.
He did not speak.
He simply sat in his office, surrounded by evidence that his own family had betrayed the woman carrying his child.
The man who had defeated competitors and controlled billion-dollar companies had been completely blind inside his own home.
At sunrise, he called his private attorney.
“Freeze every family account connected to my mother and Marcela.”
The attorney hesitated.
“Sir… are you sure?”
Alejandro looked at the documents on his desk.
“Yes.”
“This involves your own family.”
Alejandro’s voice became cold.
“They stopped being my family when they tried to destroy my wife.”
Meanwhile, Valeria prepared to leave.
She packed quietly.
Not because she wanted revenge.
Because she no longer believed Alejandro would protect her.
When Alejandro entered the room, he found a suitcase near the door.
“You’re leaving?”
Valeria looked at him.
“I waited three days hoping you would ask me what was wrong.”
Her voice broke.
“But you never asked. You accused me.”
Alejandro lowered his eyes.
She was right.
He had trusted a photograph more than the woman he promised to love.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Valeria shook her head.
“Sorry doesn’t erase fear, Alejandro.”
The words hurt because they were true.
For the first time, he understood that the damage was not only what his family had done.
It was also what he had failed to see.
That afternoon, Alejandro confronted Marcela.
She finally admitted everything.
She had created the false photograph.
She had convinced the servants to spread rumors.
She had secretly recorded conversations and twisted them to make Valeria look guilty.
“Why?” Alejandro asked.
Marcela’s face hardened.
“Because she changed everything.”
“What does that mean?”
“You were supposed to marry someone powerful. Someone who could help this family. Instead, you chose a woman who had nothing.”
Alejandro stared at her.
“You hated her because she was kind?”
May you like
“No,” Marcela replied.
“I hated her because you loved her.”
