CHAPTER 2 — A VOICE RETURNS

CHAPTER 2 — A VOICE RETURNS
The mansion felt strangely quiet.
Not because people had stopped talking.
Because fear had finally left.
For the first time in years, Noah woke up without crying.
Marina was already in the kitchen making pancakes when small footsteps echoed across the marble floor.
She turned around.
Noah stood there clutching his stuffed rabbit.
He hesitated.
Then slowly walked toward her.
Without saying a word, he wrapped his tiny arms around her waist.
Marina froze.
Tears instantly filled her eyes.
She gently hugged him back.
"It's okay, sweetheart," she whispered.
"I'm here."
Across the room...
Logan watched silently.
The child psychologists had explained that healing wouldn't happen overnight.
Trust wasn't something broken children gave easily.
Yet somehow...
Marina had accomplished in weeks what years of expensive therapy couldn't.
Later that afternoon, Logan entered Noah's bedroom carrying a small toy airplane.
"I thought maybe we could build this together."
Noah looked at the box.
Then looked away.
The silence stung.
Logan lowered himself onto the carpet anyway.
For over an hour...
Father and son assembled the tiny plane without exchanging a single word.
When the last wing clicked into place...
Noah quietly slid the finished airplane toward his father.
May you like
It wasn't forgiveness.
But it was a beginning.
