A pause.

Santiago’s smile was gone now.

“You think anyone will believe her?” he snapped, pointing at me.
“She’s unstable. She’s been—”

“Recorded,” my father interrupted.

The antique silver clock in the living room blinked a small red light.

Santiago finally noticed it.

My attorney’s live feed.
