A few months later.
Daniel had lost almost everything.
No more position.
No more reputation.
His friends had disappeared.
Those who had flattered him had turned their backs on him.
One rainy evening.
He went to the corporation headquarters to see Elena.
Not to reclaim the company.
Just to apologize.
He admitted he had never built that empire.
The one who created it all was Elena.
He said:
"I didn't lose my company.
I lost the only person who ever believed in me."
Elena remained silent.
She forgave him.
