The massive oak doors closed behind Elena without a single glance back.
Inside the mansion, silence lingered like smoke after a fire.
Daniel couldn't breathe.
His phone rang.
It was the Chairman of the Board.
He answered immediately.
"Daniel."
The chairman's voice was colder than ice.
"As of ten minutes ago, your executive authority has been suspended."
Daniel froze.
"What?"
"The majority shareholder has exercised her voting rights."
He looked toward the front door where Elena had disappeared.
"No...there has to be a mistake."
"There isn't."
The line went dead.
Within seconds another notification appeared.
Corporate Access Revoked.
His fingerprint no longer opened company files.
His company email disappeared.
His digital signature became invalid.
Everything vanished in less than a minute.
Patricia grabbed his arm.
"Call the lawyers!"
"They'll fix this!"
Daniel dialed three different attorneys.
None answered.
Finally one returned the call.
"I'm sorry, Daniel."
"We now represent Ms. Elena Ward."
The phone slipped from his hand.
Across town...
Elena entered the executive boardroom.
Twenty directors stood the moment she walked inside.
No applause.
Only respect.
"Welcome home, Chairwoman."
