CHAPTER 2 — THE BOARDROOM REVEAL
Lucas thought the nightmare ended when I walked out.
He was wrong.
Forty-eight hours later, the company boardroom turned into a battlefield.
Lucas burst through the glass doors, breathless, eyes bloodshot.
“What did you do to me, Isabella?!”
Inside the room, executives sat in silence.
And at the head of the table—
I was already there.
Calm.
Waiting.
Sophie stood behind him, pale now, no longer smiling.
Richard followed, still furious.
Helen refused to look at me.
I tapped the table once.
“Sit down, Lucas.”
He didn’t.
So I continued anyway.
“You’ve been officially removed as CEO.”
Silence.
Then chaos.
“That’s impossible!” Lucas shouted.
I slid a document across the table.
Signed.
Stamped.
Legal.
Final.
“Your shares were already diluted during the last restructuring,” I said softly. “You just never read the fine print.”
His hands shook.
“You planned this…?”
I tilted my head.
“No.”
A pause.
May you like
“I observed it.”
And that was worse.
