Patricia still believed she could intimidate me.
She arrived at headquarters wearing pearls and confidence.
"I'm Daniel's mother."
"I demand to speak with the owner."
The receptionist smiled politely.
"She already knows you're here."
Patricia walked into my office without knocking.
"You've embarrassed this family enough."
I looked up from my laptop.
"This family?"
She frowned.
"Don't play games."
I stood.
"For four years you reminded me I didn't belong."
I walked toward the window overlooking the city.
"You were right."
She smiled triumphantly.
"I never belonged..."
I turned to face her.
"...because this company was never yours."
Her face froze.
I handed her another document.
The mansion.
The vehicles.
The country club membership.
Every luxury they enjoyed...
Had been company property.
And every privilege ended today.
She whispered,
"You wouldn't..."
