CHAPTER 2: THE MONSTER BEHIND THE NAME

CHAPTER 2: THE MONSTER BEHIND THE NAME
By sunrise, Damien had ordered every file on Victor Romano brought to his office.
What he found made his blood run cold.
Hidden bank accounts.
Bribed police officers.
Medical records that had been altered.
Missing persons connected to Victor's businesses.
And one sealed envelope.
Inside were photographs.
Dozens of them.
Each showed Isabella after another beating.
Each photo had a date.
Each injury had been documented—not by a doctor, but by Victor himself.
Like trophies.
Damien slammed the folder shut.
"Bring him to me," he ordered.
Hours later, Victor was dragged into the mansion.
He smiled when he saw his daughter.
"I knew you'd come crawling back."
Before he could finish speaking, Damien punched him across the room.
"You tortured your own child."
Victor laughed through the blood.
"She belonged to me."
The room fell silent.
Damien slowly pulled out the photographs.
One by one, he spread them across the table.
Every guard standing nearby lowered his head in disgust.
Victor finally stopped smiling.
"You thought nobody would ever know," Damien said.
"You were wrong."
Minutes later, federal agents stormed the estate.
The evidence Damien had collected was enough to destroy Victor's entire empire.
As officers placed him in handcuffs, Victor screamed at Isabella.
"You'll always be nothing without me!"
She took one step forward.
Then another.
For the first time in her life...
She looked him straight in the eyes.
"No."
Her voice was calm.
"I was never nothing."
"You just spent my whole life trying to convince me I was."
May you like
Victor was led away.
He never looked powerful again.
