Michael replayed the security footage from the hallway camera.
The family gathered around the television.
There it was.
Olivia sneaking into Grandma's room.
She opened the purse.
She carefully slipped the bracelet inside.
Then she walked away as if nothing had happened.
The room erupted again.
Rebecca burst into tears.
Grandma sat down, completely heartbroken.
"Olivia… why?"
Olivia tried denying it at first.
Then she broke down crying.
"Nobody ever notices me anymore!"
Everyone fell silent.
She pointed at Rebecca.
"All anyone talks about is her promotions."
She pointed at Michael.
"Everyone praises Uncle Michael."
Then she pointed at Sophie.
"And now everyone thinks Sophie is special because she notices everything."
Tears streamed down her face.
"I just wanted someone else to get blamed for once."
Grandma looked shattered.
She turned toward Sophie.
Instead of being angry, Sophie simply walked over and hugged her.
"It's okay, Grandma."
That small act of kindness made the entire room emotional.
Grandma began crying too.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart."
