Chapter 2: The Forgotten Wife

The entire mansion erupted in chaos.

Olivia laughed nervously.

"Mr. Kingsley, there must be some misunderstanding."

Alexander reached into his wallet.

He pulled out an old photograph.

Twenty years ago.

A young Alexander and Amelia stood together in front of a courthouse.

Newly married.

Smiling.

Olivia's face drained of color.

"This can't be real…"

Alexander looked at Amelia.

"Five years ago, you disappeared after a car accident."

Amelia stared at the photograph.

Fragments of memories flashed inside her head.

Rain.

Screaming tires.

A bright light.

Then darkness.

She collapsed.

Alexander caught her before she hit the floor.

The family doctor arrived immediately.

After several examinations, he delivered another shocking truth.

"Mrs. Kingsley didn't lose her memory naturally."

Everyone froze.

"What do you mean?" Alexander asked.

The doctor looked at Olivia.

"Someone repeatedly gave her medication that suppressed her memories."

The room exploded.

Olivia stumbled backward.

"No! I didn't mean for this to happen!"

Alexander's eyes darkened.

"You admit it?"

Tears streamed down Olivia's face.

"I was drowning in debt. I found her wandering after the accident. I discovered who she was and kept her here because I wanted access to her inheritance."

Amelia stood frozen.

Years.

Seven entire years.

Stolen.

Destroyed.

Because of greed.

Alexander took Amelia's hand.

"You're going home."

But Olivia wasn't finished.

Desperate, she screamed one final secret.

"If she remembers everything… you'll both lose everything!"

Alexander stopped.

"What are you talking about?"

Olivia laughed through tears.

"The accident wasn't an accident."

Suddenly…

Amelia remembered everything.

And the person who tried to kill her…

Was someone much closer than anyone imagined.
