Claire returned home with baby Noah.
News crews surrounded the courthouse downtown.
The Bennett family scandal had become national news.
Inside Courtroom Seven...
Diane sat beside Vanessa wearing orange jail uniforms.
Neither looked at Claire.
The prosecutor projected decades of financial records onto a massive screen.
Every stolen dollar.
Every forged signature.
Every falsified tax return.
Then came the final witness.
An elderly attorney named Harold Greene slowly approached the stand.
"I represented Margaret Collins."
He looked directly at Claire.
"Your mother loved you more than anything."
Claire fought tears.
