Chapter 1: The Wedding That Never Was
Amy didn't look back.
The sound of her heels echoed through the polished hallway as whispers erupted behind her. She could hear her fiancé, Daniel Bennet, desperately calling her name, but she never slowed down.
Behind him stood his parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, and several wedding guests who had followed Mrs. Bennet to Room 237. No one spoke at first. The silence was more painful than any accusation.
Mrs. Bennet stared at her son in disbelief.
"Tell me this isn't true," she whispered.
Daniel scrambled to pull on a shirt, searching for excuses.
"It was a mistake. It didn't mean anything."
The woman beside him quietly gathered her clothes and slipped past the stunned family without saying a word.
Mrs. Bennet closed her eyes for a moment before removing the expensive gold watch she had given Daniel that morning.
"I raised you to become a man worthy of love," she said, placing the watch on the bedside table. "Instead, you chose to become someone unrecognizable."
She walked away.
One by one, every member of the family followed.
By the time Daniel stepped into the hallway, he was completely alone.
Downstairs, the ballroom remained beautifully decorated. Three hundred guests waited for a wedding that would never happen.
Amy entered wearing her wedding dress.
The room instantly fell silent.
She climbed onto the stage, picked up the microphone, and smiled with remarkable calm.
"Thank you all for coming today."
She paused.
"Unfortunately, the groom has decided to celebrate with someone else."
Gasps filled the room.
"I'm canceling the wedding."
She set the microphone down.
No tears.
No screaming.

Only dignity.
Then she walked out of the ballroom forever.
